MEMPHIS, Tenn. – (April 11, 2018) – Christie Medical Holdings, Inc. - the global leader in near infrared vein finder technology - will be showcasing the VeinViewer® system at the AONE (American Organization of Nurse Executives) 2018 Annual Meeting, from April 12-15 in the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis, IN. Nurse leaders attending AONE 2018 will see demonstrations of VeinViewer technology and how it can improve IV insertion and patient satisfaction at the Christie booth #309.
Accessing a vein to draw blood or place an IV catheter is one of the most common medical procedures. Patients with chronic conditions frequently present with hard-to-find veins and difficult venous access due to on-going treatment and repeated IV sticks. VeinViewer can help nurses improve the patient experience by reducing the number of stick attempts and the time taken to start an IV, reducing their patient’s pain and anxiety.
VeinViewer technology uses harmless near infrared (NIR) light to create a real-time HD image of the patient’s veins on their skin, allowing nurses to see peripheral veins up to 10mm deep to improve IV catheter placement or a blood draw. The 2016 Infusion Therapy Standards of Practice recognizes vein visualization as a standard of care because of the impact NIR imaging has in making a more informed decision regarding IV access.
“Christie VeinViewer technology allows nurses to provide a high level of care to patients,” said George Pinho, president, Christie Medical Holdings, Inc. “VeinViewer is the only device of its kind clinically proven to positively impact patient satisfaction and quality of care through improved PIV access.”
VeinViewer is the only device of its kind rated for use in multiple environments, including hospitals, out-patient care facilities, homes and schools.
